Unselfish Love

happy couple hugging, unselfish love

I want to unselfishly love
all the selfish parts of you.
The way you slip around
me to the bathroom mirror,
how you always take the last sip,
last slice, last sliver of morning.
I want each carefully trimmed
cuticle, each meticulously combed
hair. I want to breathe
the cologne that covers the bedroom,
the kitchen, the garage.
I want to consume you
until we become one
face in the mirror
eyes, ears, nose reflecting
into each other again and again
and again.
