God Wants What’s Best For Us, Do You Trust Him?

god wants what's best for you, girl dancing in field

The most freeing truth in the Christian faith is this—God knows more than we give Him credit for. Because honestly, as humans we’re still trying to grasp what holiness means. We’re still trying to understand how someone could be perfect, could love us, could create all that we see around us every day. It’s unfathomable, really. And yet we see our Father’s love, His plan lived out over and over again in our lives.

We see miracles happen, watch people turn away from sin and pain to Him. We see people fall in love, build futures, trust their lives in His name knowing He will never leave. In the depths of our despair, we find hope. We learn truths that shape the way we react to the world around us. We love and are forever changed.

But the hardest thing about being a person of faith is truly letting go of the doubt that so often fills our minds, even when we know who God is. We get so caught up in our selfish desires, in our fears that we lose our way. We start putting ourselves first, starting trying to push and shove and pave our own roads. We get tangled in a web of our own lies, promising ourselves that if we just keep going we’ll be happy instead of leaning into Him.

But God wants what’s best for us. He has a plan, a purpose, a love He’s poured into each and every one of our hearts. He sees the pain and the heartache, the loss and the fear. He knows there are things we are carrying that are far too heavy; He wants to take the burdens, take our hands.

But will we let Him? Will we close our eyes and walk forward in faith, even if and when we don’t quite have the answers? Will we step in the direction He’s promising will benefit us, even if that path is covered in cobwebs, in road blocks, in twists and turns?

When push comes to shove, will we fall away to the deception of the world, or stand firm in what we know He desires for us?

Will we listen, knowing that because He loves us He’ll never forsake us?

Walking by faith is no easy feat. There is doubt. There is sin. And above all, there is fear. When we look around, there will be countless people shaking their heads. There will be friends and family who won’t quite go the same direction. Sometimes we’ll feel lonely, unprepared, or worst of all—not understand His plan at all.

But choosing to continue is choosing to trust. And when we surrender to that trust, God works in our hearts and changes our lives.

At the end of the day, God knows what’s best for us bu He still gives us free will. He gives us independence and the right to our own choices. He gives us freedom to believe and become what we choose. And in every single moment, He stands beside us, beckoning us to Him. In our every breath, every failure, every mistake, every joy—He loves, He stays.

You don’t have to know all the answers, don’t have to have life figured out. You don’t need to be perfect for Him to love you—He’s loved you from the minute you opened your eyes.

So why don’t you close your eyes, lean your head back, and trust Him? Not walking blindly, but walking by your faith, letting who He is guide your steps, your heart, your hope.

God knows what’s best for us, and He knows you. And no matter what happens in this life, He’s here to stay. Reach out to Him, welcome Him into your life with open arms. The pain of this world is temporary, but in all things, all moments our Father’s love remains.

This article/devotional helped so so much. I am struggling (since a while now) with anxiety and – fear- of the unknown, of what Gods’ plan is for me. I am impatient by nature, unfortunately and I keep repeating to myself that I will never find the right person for me and it makes me so angry. I wonder why. Why can everyone be happy in a relationship/partnership and I have to be single, by myself… Lonely. Thing is, there’s MORE to it, maybe God has other plans for me.. For you and we just have to have faith, believe. TRULY believe. T.R.U.S.T.
