Welcome to Word + Sole! — Word & Sole, by Marisa Donnelly, is a creative platform offering expert coaching, intensive writing and editing services, content creation, digital strategy, and community. We are also a website dedicated to honoring, celebrating, and sharing unique stories.
We are busy people, and now, more than ever, there is this pull to ‘be’ and ‘do it all’ while somehow staying mentally stable, not compromising on anything you love, and without burning out in the process.
It feels impossible—but maybe it’s not.
Maybe it’s about defining what gives you light and learning how to add that into your days. Maybe it’s about finding the right person to coach, guide, or support you. Maybe it’s about leaning in and saying ‘yes’ while learning what you can say ‘no’ to along the way. Maybe it’s about growing within a supportive community and having your voice be truly heard. Maybe it’s about pursuing what you love without losing yourself and rewriting your story to be uniquely yours.
The name ‘Word & Sole,’ is a phrase that represents the ways we share our stories—through our words (both written and spoken) and the soles of our feet as we wander through life. It’s also a powerful play on words with ‘sole’ representing our spiritual souls and ‘sol,’ as our individual light.
We each have a unique story to tell.
And that was Marisa’s vision in the creation of the Word & Sole platform as well as all of her services. What started as a vision of sharing more inspirational content on her social media pages quickly shifted as her personal life drastically changed—becoming both a business owner and ‘bonus’ mom simultaneously.
This led her to realize the importance of honoring and owning your story—the good, the bad, and the beautiful—and finding ways to pursue your story without burning out.
As such, Word & Sole was born (formerly Be A Light Collective), with the intention of supporting clients in their unique journeys through Writing & Clarity Coaching, editing services, content creation, digital strategy, and perhaps most importantly, community and a space to share their work with the world.
On this website, you’ll find stories, articles, guides, tips, and content of varying types. You’ll also see a focus on mothers and motherhood stories, as honoring the balance of parenting and pursuing passions is something Marisa holds close to her heart.
