You deserve healing, too, giver. But sometimes you can’t get that healing from others. Sometimes the only one you can receive that healing from is yourself.
You give and give. You forget your needs. And when you look in the mirror you no longer see your heart—you see an exhausted soul.
I inhaled deeply from my shoulders to my lower belly, reminding myself that I was allowed to take up space in this room. That I was allowed to feel.
We all have something we’re battling. We all have stories, have bad days, have brokenness, have fear. We all have something that hurts.
The truth about closed doors is that they make us rethink all that’s possible. They make room for new, if we choose to accept the good part of change.
Change is a part of our lives on this earth, but it doesn’t have to dictate or define us.
Learning to be alone is essential for self-growth. But the journey to that place does not always come easy, or by choice. And we must remember that.
Put your hand on your chest and feel the beat. You have always been, and always will be, real, strong, wild, and full.
Know that sometimes people will walk away or leave, but that is not a measure of who we are, or what we’re worthy of.
