A Love Affair With Time

person holding light bulb in front of pink and blue bathroom

When I wake you are already gone
pacing faster, moving
always moving
Won’t you stay with me?
Lay in this bed
We can turn off our watches
and the ice will stay frozen
the moon will forget the tide
Won’t you take one of your minutes?
Brush your silent lips on mine
a kiss, sweet with eternity
Can you stop, let me savor
these motionless moments
before you run out on me
again?
