You are enough. Enough for the beautiful things of this world. Enough for the laughter, for the love that you deserve. Enough for the blessings that will come to you, sometimes when you least expect. Enough, even in the hardest moments, because who you are is filled with the strength and resilience to overcome.
You are enough—enough power, enough love, enough spirit, enough passion, enough of everything you so often convince yourself you lack.
We live in a world where self-doubt is the ruler, where who we are capable of being is often pushed to the side because of fear. We listen to others’ voices before our own, letting their opinions of us become the rules we walk by, the truths we embody.
We are so quick to remember the times we’ve failed before the moments we’ve risen, to remember the loss before the days we got back to our feet, brushed off, and continued. Though we’ve been blessed with so much, we tend to focus on what we’re lacking. We thank God one minute, but then curse Him the next, as we watch our loved ones struggle, as we face pain, as we forget, so easily, how far we’ve come.
We take our mistakes and bring them to the forefront, grab ahold of the emptiness and let that define who we are instead of seeing the struggle as momentary, as little bumps in our road that keeps continuing, no matter how defeated we may feel. We forget that we go on, every single day, every single breath. We lose sight of how, even in moving forward, we are already succeeding.
We don’t realize that we are enough—simply because we are here, because we are existing, because we are alive, and worthy, and despite it all we don’t give up.
So this is your reminder, first, that you are not alone. That there are people on the other side of this screen typing these words, and people reading them over and over, like a mantra they’re longing to memorize. That there are people stumbling through this maze of life, looking for an affirmation that you, too, understand. That you, too, are struggling. That you, too, are learning what it means to be inherently worthy, and starting to walk in that beautiful truth.
This is your reminder that you, in your skin, in your natural state, in simply being—are enough. You don’t have to shape or change. You don’t have to be perfect, pushing away every mistake and blemish and bruise. You don’t have to beat yourself up for mistakes of the past, for the times you lost your way, for the way you doubt, even when you know doubt is filled with lies.
Sometimes the greatest battle we face is not the one outwardly raging against us, but the one we fight within us.
And so, this is your reminder that your mind is powerful. That what you feed it will become the path you walk. That you are a good person, and you always have room to redeem and move forward, to make today better than yesterday. To start again.
You are enough. Let that be the phrase you repeat, the words that echo in your head as your head hits the pillow tonight. Disregard the negativity that people pour upon you, ignore the doubt-filled voices in your head. Walk in your identity of worth, of self-love, of forgiveness, of faith.
You are stronger than you realize, and far more deserving of all that you’ve convinced yourself you’re not.
